If we’ve learnt anything from NYFW, it’s that playing with layering and colour schemes elevates outfit coordination into an art form. Monochromatic palettes have been present for quite some time now, thanks to their an understated depth they bring to an ensemble and the ease of pairing. However, organising an outfit based on complementary colours is a sure way to create a standout.
Experiment by offsetting the colour of the year – lilac – with different shades of orange or green. If colour clashing isn’t your style, play around with patterns or materials, ranging from plaid to leather. Promise yourself that every time you step out, you’re also stepping outside of your comfort zone. It’s the only way your personal style will grow.
